Concert and film posters plaster the walls of The Rockwell Place. It's not an aesthetic. They're an homage to BAM and BRIC, cultural institutions on the same block. The Rockwell Place hosts afters and cast parties, but it's a neighborhood bar first. It has the look of a sleek cocktail bar, but manages to feel like a lived-in dive. Construction on all side conceals the entrance (for now), adding to the in-the-know vibe.
Try the house cocktails like the Flaming Dr. Pepper. It's a concoction of amaretto, rum, Cynar, vermouth, absinthe, and soda. For the indecisive, the menu offers one wine choice per white, orange, rosé, and red. An extensive list of spirits includes everything imaginable, from Aperol to Yamazaki.
The kitchen serves Nori-sesame popcorn, grilled broccolini, and burgers until 23:00. With a kitchen helmed by Long Island Bar chef Kevin Walker Garett, you can't go wrong.
