Once or twice a month, I go to the cafe for prosciutto with melon. Or an espresso with an imported pastry from the acclaimed Sal de Riso, depending on the time of year. After, I do my grocery shopping. It's the only place in Brooklyn with the orange, carrot, and lemon juice my friend, spotter Daniela, has in Rome.
The owners, from Italy, ensure only the freshest, seasonal items. Last year, as fall arrived, I asked after a sparkling red wine I'd been buying all summer. "The season is over," they kindly reminded me. "After the fall harvest, we'll have the wine again next summer!"
