Book Culture LIC is an adorable local bookstore that caters to New Yorkers and travelers alike. As you browse, you'll notice index cards along the shelves which highlight the staff's favorite books. I've found lots of great reads by following their recommendations! Travelers will love Book Culture LIC's entire wall of travel books, with a section specifically highlighting New York City. The also sell lovely gifts such as stationery and accessories.
If you are traveling with kids, or seeking a gift for a little one back home, I highly recommend visiting Book Culture LIC's children's section downstairs. The entire basement floor is dedicated to books for young readers of all ages, from brightly illustrated picture books, to exciting adventure novels. Toys and games fill the back wall, and young ones will be delighted to cozy up on the carpet for story time.
In addition to Book Culture LIC, there are three other Book Culture locations in Manhattan's Upper West Side. Among these locations, there are literary events nearly every day! You can find a calendar of events on the website.
