Biermanns gård is the oldest school building in Oslo and it dates back to the late 1700s, and early 1800s. It was named after its first owner, Johan Fredrik Biermann, whose wish and legacy was for it to become a school. Today, Biermanns gård is mainly used to host cultural activities for kids – mostly music related – and it also sometimes hosts music concerts with a limited amount of guests.
Ok, and what is so special about it? Isn’t it just another tree house? You may ask… But no! For me, Biermanns gård is a lot more than that thanks to its backyard: a secret place away from the fuss of the city! There, can you just relax and enjoy nature, the company of own your thoughts, or a picnic with your loved ones. Or just listen to your music and even meditate, after a stroll in the lovely neighborhood! And that is why I love the backyard at Biermanns gård.
