Have you every wondered what happens to all the lovely food from the bakery or from the hotel breakfast buffet that doesn't get sold? Well now there is a way to get your hands on some of that yummy produce while simultaneously reducing food wastage - it's a win win!
Too Good to Go is an app where various vendors list up their excess produce for consumers to reserve and come pick up, all for a very friendly price. I tend to log on a couple of times a week to check what is available. Favourites of mine include the bakery Baker Hansen, a juicery, and the cheese shop at Mathallen. They quite simply make a "surprise bag" of whatever hasn't sold at the end of the day and you reserve and pay through the app for pickup later, it couldn't be simpler!
I am a huge fan of this concept and love to see that more and more cafes, restaurants and even grocery stores are joining up.
Pro-tip - If you happen to be in town later in the afternoon or evening then you can use your location on the app to find everything nearby and do a swoop!
