In Paris, there are many « salons de thé ». Here you can enjoy pastries and delicious hot or cold drinks. For my part, I love to go to a tea room with a friend because I am very greedy and like most French people I love desserts.
Carette is a luxury tea room located near the Place du Trocadéro in the 16th arrondissement of Paris near several museums such as the Palais de Tokyo, the Palais Galliera: the fashion museum or the Musée Guimet: the museum of Asian arts. At Carette, the decoration is very refined and elegant. When I go there I always take the five little macaroons with a thick and creamy hot chocolate as I like it. The prices are high (16€ the formula composed of a pastry + a drink) especially if you sit at the table. If your wallet does not allow you this luxury, you can also buy a pastry to take away at Carette’s, including: chocolate or coffee lightning flashes, mille-feuilles, Opera, Saint-Honoré, fruit tarts, etc. Be careful, I advise you not to eat here for lunch because the prices are excessively high and you can find much better elsewhere in Paris.
Carette’s main speciality is pastries, so I advise you to go there only for a snack or dessert.
