In the beautiful passage Jouffroy which my colleague Fred described in another post, there is this fantastic shop called "La maison du roy". The shop is full of decorating items, artisan pieces of work, antique furniture and anything that could be related to the 18th century in France and the royal paraphernalia.
The shop boasts cushions, silky ornaments, chandeliers, glass items and also metallic things that make it so fantastic to walk through. Red velvet, brown and green carpets and curtains, and many other things that are more and more surprising as you stroll through the shop. The shop attendants are extremely nice and will assist and explain any details you may need about what is there. Now, in the autumn, the shop is also full of the most baroque and flourished Christmas tree decoration that you can imagine. All of them unique, you can find glass angels, decorated balls, little packages made out of glass... anything you want for that.
I left the shop with this smile you get when something you see makes you feel the illusion of being a little kid again. I think this year I will find all my Christmas presents in that shop.
