After Lavomatic, here is L'épicier (The Grocer in English): a new hidden bar that opened in early summer 2019 (so very recently) and people have still not stopped talking about it! Indeed, faced with success, the founders of Lavomatic have created a new hidden bar. It is called L'épicier and is located near the Place de la République in Paris.
At the address indicated on the internet, there is a grocery store that appears quite normal. There are shelves full of things to eat that you can buy. A salesman is waiting. But in reality, it is not a grocery store like any other. Indeed, one of the shelves (I won't tell you which one!) opens like a door. By using this door we arrive in an oriental bar with a neat decoration and a subdued atmosphere. The place is ideal for a romantic drink (even if I personally was there with a friend!) The bar is not very spacious but has two floors. You can sit comfortably on swings or in hammocks if you want.
The oriental decoration with all the multicoloured lamps hanging from the ceiling makes us think that we are in Morocco and not in Paris. On the menu there are also various excellent cocktails. I recommend a cocktail I loved: Cleopatra's bath. In this rum-based cocktail, there is sparkling golden glitter (edible, of course)! L'épicier is definitively a great place to have a great cocktail!
