Originating from Philadelphia, La Colombe's unique coffee roasting company is introducing major cities in the Northeast to a new level of coffee sophistication. Larger than other locations, the Fishtown La Colombe is a full scale cafe and bakery with their signature rum distillery and roasting facilities on site. Ample seating is provided in this rustically restored warehouse venue.
European details are prominent in a menu that is prepared daily around an exquisite copper clad oven. For breakfast (09:00 - 12:00) their Phat Egg Sandwich ($ 9) is an elevated take on the classic egg sandwich with herb aioli, pork roll, home fries and cheddar on buttery brioche. After 11:00 options of salads, skillets, sandwiches, boards, and tartines are appetizing fare. The popular French Dip ($ 12) sandwich has roast beef that is rubbed in coffee roast. Their Biscuits & Gravy hot skillet is savory, sizable, and full of thick cut bacon, fresh chives and light but crisp biscuits. On the lighter side Ham & Butter and Roasted Tomato & Ricotta sandwiches are very satisfying and inexpensive at only $ 5. The tartines are great, and I suggest both the wild smoked salmon with creme fraiche & fennel or the roasted oyster mushrooms with cipollini, both $ 9.
From Thursday - Saturday 17:00 - 22:00 La Colombe offers an evening menu made up of local meat and cheese boards, pizza, and soup. Cocktails, beer, and wine are available at any time, and its highly recommended one tries the house distilled Different Drum rum.
P.S. Happy Hour Mon - Fri 17:00 - 19:00!
