Catraio Porto

This article is dedicated to the beer fans, which I guess are not numbering just a few around the world... I recently became a happy appraiser of these crafted beers, especially after trying some Belgian types. In Porto, we didn't want to stay behind this tasteful trend, so "Catraio" is our perfect answer.

Maria and Ricardo had the great vision to open this place in the beginning of 2015. Located in the beautiful street of "Cedofeita", inserted in the very center of nightlife in Porto, it is really hard to resist to this calling! Their beautiful and comfy store is completely dedicated to craft beer, with a huge emphasis on Portuguese brands. You can find brands from all over the country, from the most acquainted to the small private productions of beer enthusiasts. Did you think that we couldn't make tasty and special beer? With a great selection of more than one hundred beers, "Catraio" (which means "kid") is no longer a child in Porto's references of local gastronomy. It quickly became a grown up "must" for friends meeting up and for many curious who want to try a different taste from the regular beers.

As some references, I can recommend the "Burguesa", "Sovina", "Letra" and "Vadia", prices vary from € 2.50 (0,25 cL pressure beer) to € 5.50 (0,5 L bottled beer). And remember, like they say, "Life is too short to drink cheap beer!"
