Desportivo Praça da Alegria is part of an association run by a sportive club but it is much more than that. Being neighbour of the Arts Faculty of Porto, it is mostly frequented and even managed by some of its students, along with the senior associates. You can find regular meetings of both generations together, in friendship and mutual company.

Once you pass the corridor of its entrance you will find a room full of trophies and billiards. Notice also that there are two computers reminiscent of old cyber cafes which members can use. After you pass the balcony, where you can have an affordable beverage, you will find the cinema and concert room. There is a movie shown every Sunday night and concerts when some friendly artists are invited. From this room, there’s a door to the beautiful backyard where you can enjoy some air but mainly, where their biggest event occurs: The table football competition! Once a year in May, more than thirty teams compete to win in this championship, but also to win best outfits, the best play and even the best female team. All of this while the band plays popular music for the joy of the participants and the public in general.
