During the last 20 years of my "age" I only got satisfaction from, and good things to say about, this restaurant. Created by the hands of two friends, it has been a constant success in the neighborhood and even in the entire city. The results today are two places in the same street: one which serves traditional meals and another more turned to grilled dishes ("churrasqueira").
In a very generic way, let's just say that "It is just another great quality/price restaurant in Porto". It is definitely a chosen spot by the locals that work or live nearby, both at lunch and dinner time. The recipe is "simple": excellent food quality, good price and very friendly and efficient staff. They also offer a take-away option in case you prefer to comfortably eat at home.
So, let's satisfy ourselves with some recommendations from the menu? It is an excellent place to try the "bacalhau à Braga" (Codfish with fried potatoes and onion), but mainly meats like "bife na frigideira" (supreme quality beef with garlic and sauce), "bifinhos de boi à chefe" (steaks covered with cheese), "picanha" (typical Brazilian meal with meat and another six or seven things!), "vitela assada" (roasted meat and potatoes with vegetables), the usual "francesinha" (Portuguese sandwich with many kinds of meat, bread, cheese and a secret sauce) or the "arroz de pato" (rice with duck pieces). To drink, you can and should try their recommended wine, which is € 3.50 a bottle.
Bom apetite! :)
