If you are a basketball enthusiast and want to work up a sweat with a friendly game, I know just the place for you. Way out in the lush woods of Gërmia Park, up the hill, and after an appealing resting spot with running water, you will come across a haven for sports lovers from all over Prishtina.
On weekends, I love to come here with my friends and beat up the backboard while discussing our favorite movies or songs. There is always music playing from someone’s speaker, and the side walls are covered in beautiful graffiti. It’s the perfect blend of sports and art. If you enjoy staying in shape, Germia Park’s 10km path also offers a range of walking and hiking levels. You can get to the park’s entrance from the center by taking the No. 4 bus (no entrance fee unless you enter by car).
It’s the most neighborly place in the city, where you could walk in with your group of high school friends, and end up playing with a group of energetic retirees who are always up for a challenge. It is a place where everyone is your friend, and the radiating energy of the place will make you want to stay all day. If you do decide to come, be prepared to spend the whole day here because you will get so attached to the radiating energy of this place. Also, don’t forget to pack a pair of dry clothes for your way back.
