Cherry Fix Riga – A Quick Bite
Small, rounded, and quite literally ''corner stores'' might be a hit or miss for some people. But there is nothing to miss about Cherry Fix, a place for a cheap, delicious bite on the go, a sit-down cup of coffee, or both, no matter the weather or season. Right on the corner of Merķeļa street and Brīvības boulevard, a five-minute walk from the Freedom Monument, Cherry Fix offers food options styled similarly to those of the popular Latvian bistro chain Lido, only in bite-sized pieces and with many of their own unique items, such as the cheese or chicken konverts – a quesadilla-type snack – or the beloved Eastern-European dessert of sweet cottage cheese balls.
Oh, and did I mention almost everything is under 3 euros and fresh on display for you to choose from? Can’t beat that. If it is not food but a comfy sit-down spot you are after, then Cherry Fix has an insulated terrace where you can warm yourself by the heater and enjoy the sights of the bustling city life shifting around you. So close to the old town, the city’s grand parks, and historical monuments, Cherry Fix is a place that should be on everybody’s radar when visiting Riga. Just make sure to come at a good time, otherwise, the locals will have snatched up all the good seats.
