Having been open less than 2 years and surviving the epidemiological restrictions, Hanzas Perons is reopening its doors! With its 2,400 m² and multiple possibilities to adapt and transform the hall for various events, the place has gained great popularity and the love of Riga's citizens and visitors as well – pop concerts, large conferences, fashion shows, exhibitions and other events have been held there.
It is necessary to point out that the building is renovated: a former Riga cargo railway warehouse has been reconstructed by keeping the historical details and breath by combining the building’s more-than-100 years of history with a modern approach and creative attitude. The abandoned warehouse, the last of 15 that once stood by the train tracks, had been deemed structurally unsound. Hanzas Perons original brickwork and timber fabric is covered by a new roof with skylights. The brick and wood elements were a significant part of the interior but the exterior of this new lobby is clad in vertical wooden planks. The original materials have been left wherever possible, so it gives a very special historical atmosphere and feeling.
After renovations, the building retained its historical image, remaining a landmark of the city’s rapid industrial development. Hanzas Perons has been noticed and recognized as an attractive and modern cultural destination in Riga. So, if you are looking for a high-quality cultural event in a very special venue – you are welcome to visit Hanzas Perons.
