Located a bit outside of the center of Riga, Tallinas ielas kvartāls (Tallina street block) has become like an industrial island for modern art and creative minds and an object of interest to those who are interested in 21st century’s cities, and hipster & street moods.
16 buildings form this joint complex devoted to modern and street art and any creative initiative hidden in the inner yard. The former industrial block of houses begun to be renovated in 2017 and at first musical and literary events were organised there. Currently, 14 residents (like bar Tallinas pagalms spotted by Riga spotter Elvita) can be found there, offering various possibilities to enjoy modern art, music, street food, performances, and a very urban atmosphere – inside the buildings as well as in the wide inner yard. Very impressive street art and graffiti are there so all Instagram users can update their profiles with a very colorful picture of urban art.
So, if you are tired from the glamour, chic, and the color pink, you need to visit this democratic place that has no equal in Riga. Due to the epidemiological situation with Covid-19 it is recommended to check the latest information about the indoor events and related restrictions by visiting Tallinas ielas kvartāls Facebook page/ Events chapter.
