We all know Seattle is known for their coffee but what about their bread? After living a year in Europe and spending some time in Paris I was on a quest to find a French style bakery where I could buy my baguettes and other baked goods. Le Parisienne fulfilled all that and more.
The owners are from Paris and put out a mean display of authentic French bread in woven baskets. I usually grab the butter croissants and pain au chocolat but heard the marionberry filled with jam is the way to go. Other gems include the crème brûlée, chocolate meringue and the sandwiches. These are one of those places where there isn't a bad item on the menu. The croque-monsieur is amazing as are the four different types of quiche, classic lorraine, vegetarian, prosciutto asparagus and champignons. Everything has that golden brown tint to it from being baked in butter. There is also a display of French wine for sale.
I usually come here on a Saturday morning after my son's soccer game. There is always a line and the place is filled with well dressed customers, reclining on red cushions enjoying the warm lights and cozy interior.
