Standard Brewing Seattle

Atypical standards

Daniel from Seattle

About me Young and restless, I'm an explorer of my own city. When I'm not at a desk, you can find me getting lost biking through the rather convoluted streets of Seattle. I find it to be the best way to get to know the city and discover some hidden gems. I also love to hike, Mt. Bike and climb, so when not I'm exploring the city I'm out exploring nature and blogging about my ad...
""Standard Brewing" Seattle started off as a tiny tap room with a huge selection. Now, they've stepped it up, but they still make the best IPA in the city."

Standard Brewing started as a humble operation with a tiny tap room with a huge tap selection. Thirteen, last time I checked. Other Seattle brewers tell me they brew one of the best IPAs in the city and I can agree. The atmosphere is neighborly and seating is less limited now but you are still bound to meet your neighbors and rub shoulders with locals.

Standard is no longer the tiny three barstool tap room and has stepped it up. It just opened a new, much larger, tap room next door and is serving sandwiches and liquor. This means more patio space and elbow room! Don't worry it still keeps its cosy feel.

On game days they fire up the projector so you can cheer on the Hawks or the Sounders. Do be prepared to wait, the bar tends to be understaffed and with the expansion traffic has increased.

The Central District is often overlooked, but there are some hidden gems and Standard is definitely one that raises the bar here in the neighborhood.

I find it to be the best way to get to know the city and discover some hidden gems. I also love to hike, Mt. Bike and climb, so when not I'm exploring the city I'm out exploring nature and blogging about my adventures. Why Seattle? Seattle is beautiful. Seattleites might complain about the rainy weather, the traffic and the antisocial Seattle Freeze, but when the sun is shining and the s...
