It doesn't take much time in Seattle to realize no one's "a local" to this city, but music has always been a cultural mainstay from grunge to hip hop; harmonies have always been running through Seattle's veins. Unfortunately, one of the consequences of the high rate of migration is the pressure on space, which has forced out many of the small local music venues and forced others to court more commercial acts.
Sunset is one of the few back-room music venues holding out and providing a performance space for Seattle's garage bands and holding down the local vibes our city is known for. Shows are cheap and low key. Ten bucks will guarantee you a 100% local experience.
Don't set your expectations and put on your dancing shoes because even if it takes a couple of Rainiers you'll be out there on the floor or maybe up on stage!
