For some, Seattle is synonymous with Starbucks. For others it is the home of indie coffee shops like Victrola.
Roasting what are some of the best beans in the city, Victrola is where I come to write, at home around others working off their laptops, reading the Seattle Times or conversing with friends. It is also the spot for a lot of Meetups and writing clubs. In the morning, the coffeehouse is flooded with a great natural light.Â
Kandi is the manager and one of the best baristas. I always get a latte and sometimes one of the nibbles behind the glass counter. I'd also recommend the pour over. The featured coffee changes daily with my favorite being the Ethopian guji ardi.Â
Grab a table, sit atop one of the high stools or under the rainbow flag hanging from the high ceilings. The long tables are scattered with locals and papers. There is a roasting room in the back with big glass windows.
On sunny days you can grab a seat outside and watch the street traffic go by.Â
There are two other locations in Beacon Hill and one on 15th Avenue.
