Smack in the middle of downtown Seattle, a peaceful sanctuary hides behind an imposing iron gate. A native of Seattle, I didn't even know it existed until last year. Though it is situated just off a busy street, the constant gushing from the waterfall blocks out the noise of cars whizzing by.
I've noticed many people (who work in the nearby Pioneer Square area) like to come here for their lunch break. It's perfectly maintained and there are many great lunch spots nearby. Bring a picnic and sit at one of the park's several tables.
Depending on what time of year you visit, you'll be treated to various trees and plants. We could all use some more "zen" in our life, and Waterfall Garden Park is the perfect place to start.Â
