I first came to this park for my son's daycare ice cream social. Located in Upper Queen Anne, it is a great neighborhood park for kids to run around in and play baseball, softball and soccer.
The playground is clean and well kept, has swings, sandboxes and shaded trees meant for climbing. There is a smaller area for toddlers and a merry-go-round.
Queen Anne is my favorite area in Seattle. An older and established neighborhood with local restaurants, great schools, a brick library and wonderful parks, it is the type of place you see all kinds of families frequenting on weekend afternoons.
The West Queen Anne Playfield shares the street with a community and aquatic center.
I also enjoy visiting the park on summer nights, when the fields are well lit.
Come here with caution -- the community will welcome you, the homes will lure you but the prices will shock you.
"20/20 Cycles" in Seattle is my go-to bike shop. They sell quirky, reframed and overhauled '70s-'80s bikes - I don't need many excuses to just stop by!
