Food classic not to be missed!
If you've been wondering about typical Bulgarian cuisine to try during your visit, chances are you've come across kyufte (кюфте) and its widespread popularity. Kyufte is meatballs made from minced meat mixed with various spices. Vegetarians, don't close this article just yet!
These meatballs are usually served with cabbage salad, lyutenitsa dip, and fries. As a Bulgarian, I find kyufte to be a comforting dish that never disappoints and always fills me up satisfyingly.
You can easily find kyufte and kebapche almost anywhere here, from restaurants to fast food stalls and markets. However, there's one particular place I really like where you can enjoy your kyufte meal (and more) in a pleasant atmosphere.
Welcome to Q-ftetaria: located on the second floor of a building, you can always find a place to sit here since it is a really large place. Now, onto the food: there are over 10 types of kyufte here, including ones with mango and jalapeno. Additionally, they offer soups, tapas, various chips, salads, and starters some of them also suitable for vegetarians.
My recommendation: try the Shopska salad and the Classic Sofia Standard kyufte dish.
Don't miss out: if you visit Q-ftetaria during the week of your birthday, you'll receive a free dish.
If you want to try another recommended place with really delicious kyufte and kebapche meals, check Rakia Raketa Bar or SkaraBar.
