So, actually this was the first place I went when I had the honour of doing a #weekendbylocals (October 2019) in Stockholm and was happily surprised by the hospitality of one of the owners’ daughter.

Despite the rainy weather in the early morning, there was quite a lot of locals enjoying breakfast on a Saturday.

I ordered a “frukostpaket” (breakfast package, with crispbread, an egg, a nice healthy green juice) and “cherry up” porridge, which contains vanilla, cherries, granola and milk. It was super yummy and gave me a good kickstart for the day.

I believe they opened this about 3 years ago and the ambience was so super nice. I remember it being a beer place before that was quite dark and boring.

Their speciality includes porridge with various types of topping, such as apple, lingonberry and blueberry, it is the basics of Grain Café’s business. They have taken inspiration from New York, Berlin and Copenhagen. In addition to porridge breakfast, the café also has cornotto lunch, cereal risotto, along with various options!
