A couple of years ago, two Swedes and an American decided to start a bar focusing on craft beer from the Stockholm region, Katarina Ölkafé. The small but cozy bar is found in SOFO, an area in Stockholm's Södermalm that has seen lots of hype during the recent years where bars, cafés and second hand shops make it a nice place to stroll around.
The small space fills up fast on weekends and it can be a bit of a hassle to inch your way to the bar and then catch the attention of one of the bartenders. Noise levels can be high, too, when everyone wants to talk at the same time in a crammed space.
But the beer is worth hanging around for. Small local breweries you can discuss at length with the knowledgeable staff. The beer trend has come to stay in our city and while pondering over which beer to have next, have a pastrami sandwich!

I can recommend going for the Maiz Mix Plate. If you are really hungry, you might finish it all by yourself, but I recommend sharing it.
