This is the Nõmme district — a truly special part of Tallinn where nature and history blend beautifully. Here, tall pine trees grow right alongside charming private houses and incredibly picturesque old buildings that seem to tell stories from the past. The atmosphere feels calm and inviting, like a little green oasis within the city.
A couple of years ago, the central alley was carefully renovated, and now it’s one of the best spots to relax. Whether you want to take a break from walking or just hide away from the summer sun, this alley offers a cool, peaceful place to sit down. There’s also a small fountain where city birds flutter and splash, adding a gentle soundtrack to your visit.
Close by, you’ll find two wonderful cafés. One is a doughnut shop that has been part of the neighborhood since my childhood — a place full of warm memories and delicious smells. The other is a newer café, offering a wide variety of fresh pastries, perfect for a sweet treat with your coffee.
This quiet promenade is ideal for slowing down your pace. It’s a lovely place to sit with a good book and a warm cup of coffee. Or maybe meet up with friends and spend time chatting about everything and nothing. Nõmme’s charm is in these simple moments, where nature, history, and community come together.
After the walk, don’t miss Nõmme Market — another local gem I love.
