I’m not a special lover of tea, but I have to admit that it’s a great choice to warm your hands, all of your body, and brain in a cozy tea house with a cup of tea in the hand and with a nice person in front of you. In Tbilisi, I love Althaus because of its huge choice of tasty teas and because of its nice interior.
Actually, it’s not only a tea house because they have a varied menu with appetizers, salads, pasta, soups, baked goods, a grill menu, and of course delicious desserts like waffles and pancakes. But the main attention goes to tea. You must get lost while looking through the menu. Besides hot tea, they have hot tea cocktails, ice tea, and ice tea alcohol cocktails. And, surely, other kinds of hot and cold drinks.
As for the place, there are two similar tea houses. One of them is near the Opera House and another one is on Kiacheli street (still in the city center). Both of them have lovely interiors and colors with old-fashioned furniture.
