As they say (us, Georgians), the Italian people and the Georgian people are very much alike, take temperament, hand gestures, or even cuisine. No, don’t throw rocks at me! I know there is no other cuisine like Italian, I meant that as Georgians, having an uncountable range of diversity in the traditional cuisine, we appreciate similar diversity in other countries, especially in one like Italy.
This all means I always hunt for places that offer Italian dishes that will throw me to Roma in a matter of seconds. Le Gâteau turned out to be a nice surprise, firstly because the name is quite misleading. I didn’t expect a French-named café to offer Pinsa Romana and even Ravioli. For me personally, Ravioli is a luxury dish as it is offered nearly nowhere in the country and supermarket packets are too expensive.
The menu is drenched with all kinds of Italian delights, such as pasta, pizza, variations of sandwiches, breakfasts, coffee, and pastry, taking you on a quick rocket ride to Italy.
The staff and interior also caught my attention, their attitude and the way they’re dressed will make you feel like you don’t uphold the class, however, the restaurant is not fancy at all. It feels good to sit down and have a coffee with a friend, or hold a quick business meeting.
