A big breakfast isn't much of a thing in Georgia -- some cafes aren't even open until 09:00 in the morning. Tea or coffee and a light snack is common. Georgians tend to eat heavier much later in the day. Sometimes you just want to meet with your friends and enjoy all the breakfast foods from your home turf, which might be heavier with eggs and toast or Turkish style with a salad. When I am craving a splendid Sunday brunch, I head over to the Kitchen at the hip Rooms Hotel. It has a wonderful ambiance with an open-concept kitchen. It's mostly buffet style, but I also order poached eggs and fresh squeezed orange juice, and I never miss their famous cheesecake, which I think is the best in town.
I keep coming back to The Kitchen because of their farm-to-table philosophy. The products are local and seasonal and everything is fresh. Take a walk around the hotel lobby and admire the Portuguese tiles and the Vivienne Westwood rugs.
