Whenever I go traveling, I have this habit to buy jewelry - specifically earrings - from the countries I have been to. It’s a great memory when you wear it and it never causes overweight luggage. Of course, the first time I was in Tel Aviv, I checked out the local jewelry scene and to my surprise, there were a lot of very unique designers. The best place to check them out is Shabazi Street, the main street of Neve Tzedek.
On Shabazi 21 there is the cute little store of Shlomit Ofir. She is inspired by geometrical designs, natural forms and Scandinavian design. Before her, I didn't really like gold jewelry, but her minimalistic style with matte gold is now my favorite. She also has other stores on Sheinkin 35 and Dizzengoff 175. Slomit Ofir not only sells and designs jewelry but also very beautiful stationery and shoes.
Besides this shop there are many other jewelry shops on Shabazi street. Also, don't miss one of the best ice cream places at Anita on Pines Street 40 (Corner of Shabazi Street), if you are already there!
