Established in 1967 by Turkish immigrants and based in Levinsky Market, Yom Tov Deli serves one of the best sandwiches that I've ever had in Tel Aviv. The Deli is run buy the owner's grandchildren and they will supply you with delicious food from the Balkans - especially from Turkey and Greece - dolmas (stuffed vine leaves), matias (pickled Herring), Turkish kashkaval cheese, tons of different olives, pickles and more delicious gourmet food from the rich Mediterranean kitchen.
But I'm here to tell you about Yom-Tov's sandwiches. When it comes to food (and other things as well, who am I kidding) I am a very indecisive person. Yom-Tov Deli has made my life way easier... When you are asking for a sandwich you only need to say what you prefer: Fish, Cheese or Meat.
After making your choice they will take a fresh piece of bread and fill it with spreads and pickles, alongside different kinds of cold cuts, pickled fish or fresh cheeses. The sandwich is full with different flavors and textures, in every bite you will note a different ingredient which makes it into a full-of-surprises eating experience.
I usually love to wander around after having lunch in a nice area but after this meal the only advice I can give you is to find a place for a good food coma.
