My first time at Levontin 7 was when I went to a show, performed by a local band named Habiluyim, which has just released their second album. So many people came, the band had to show twice that night (they did the exact same show on both times. I know it because I stayed; I thought they would be different).
It was a great night, and ever since I’ve added their musical monthly program to my reading list.
Levontin 7, which is conveniently named after its address, has 3 spaces. A bar on the entry floor, where you can drink in the company of musicians, artists, and other people from the scene. A vegan restaurant named The Green cat, which obviously serves cats or green stuff, probably green stuff. The stage is in the basement, and there is a small bar there as well.
I like Levontin because it has the perfect combination of indie and mainstream. Usually there are 2 shows every night, and besides those, there are documentary musical movies, lectures, and other activities that make this place so special.
