I found Oh Mama restaurant by mistake: I had a day off from work so I walked to the beach, and after spending a few hours at the beach I can get really hungry. So I walked by the place and had a look. I saw a small place with a wide variety of choices.
The food in Oh Mama restaurant feels like it was cooked by an Israeli grandma, it feels like something you will eat at an average Israeli family. I went there after noon so I had the lunch deal, I chose the main dish and two side dishes - turkey kabab (BBQ meatballs), Persin rice with cranberries and roasted potatoes. I also got some fresh Israeli salad and fried hot green peppers - the portion was huge and it was super affordable - and for this huge amount of food I paid 39 NIS.
The food was fresh and tasty, I needed to take a good nap after eating all this food, but it was totally worth it. The variety of food is really surprising - you can find different kinds of meat, chicken, and fish and a lot of vegan-friendly options.
If you want to try a real homemade Israeli food you should definitely stop by for lunch in Oh Mama - and you can also do take away!
