Although I’ve lived in The Hague for nearly a decade now, I don’t think I will ever be done exploring this city. As The Hague’s city centre is quite a familiar spot for me, I love to become a bit more acquainted with the outer areas of The Hague. Quite recently, I went to explore the Ockenburg estate. Ordinarily, there was a brasserie-type restaurant in the villa. However, the villa itself is currently being renovated and therefore the restaurant has been moved into the greenhouse. Now, I am a sucker for great estates, but add a greenhouse to the equation and I’m sold.
What I like most about OCK is the atmosphere. You can just tell it’s a wonderful spot where you can relax and have a cup of coffee or enjoy the surrounding greenery. But what I especially noticed is that it’s a place where young and old can come together. The first time I was here was actually for a workshop, but it’s also a lovely location for events such as weddings, company parties and tastings!
