Old Fashion Den Haag is anything but old-fashioned, that’s for sure. I discovered this hidden gem by chance when I was looking for a nice place to have a drink one evening. I entered Old Fashion, thinking it was a nice classic bar, but that’s just the entrance area. Once I went further in, I saw that the main room (almost a hall) used to be a small ballroom. Now it’s filled with tables in the middle and cosy booths, but if you look up, there’s an open balcony overlooking the once-upon-a-time dance floor.
The staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and attentive. Whether you’re just staying for a drink or going for a full dinner, you’ll be guaranteed a good time here. Their dishes are exquisite — amongst a wide range of fish and meat dishes, there are Asian cuisine inspired creations, as well as soups and salads. Old Fashion also serves steak, roast leg of lamb or burgers. I can certainly recommend the “Old Fashion Classic” burger and their homemade fries. When it comes to desserts, I like to go for the “old passion”, a creation of passionfruit, mango and mascarpone. Oh, and in case you’re wondering: yes, Old Fashion also serve an Old Fashioned classic cocktail!
