Located on Queen Street West, which according to many is the main 'Bohemian street' in Toronto, this venue is thought, along with the Gladstone Hotel to be the best Friday-night entertainment Mecca for many locals in the area.
Although considered a bit mainstream, The Drake Hotel is one of the few truly multi-faceted venues in our city. From a bar, to exhibits, to a funky patio, a proper restaurant and stage for music, they truly try to cover everything under the sun. Not to mention, it is also a full fledged hotel.
It is a great place to drop by if you want to see where many Torontonians go for some of their fun. Personally, I have generally dropped by for drinks, the live music and their cultural events. I have seen some good burlesque shows here yet I must admit, not so much for the food. You see, although the menu is not bad, there are other spots more culturally diverse I can think of when I think of getting lunch or dinner. That may just be me though.
Last time I was in the neighbourhood they had live country music, the time before that? Jazz. Check their website for listing for events while you are in town as The Drake likes to think of themselves as a *hotbed for culture* so if there is one thing The Drake likes to be, it's diverse.
