Founded over 15 years ago as a purveyor of vintage goods at local markets and pop-ups, Philistine now has two shops of its own in the city, both on Queen Street, one in the west end of Toronto and the other in the east. Evolving since their founding, they now sell new clothes as well, bridging classic, timeless style with fun and functional pieces from affordable and premium brands alike.
Upon entering, visitors are greeted with an atmosphere filled with urban flair. From their cool, contemporary clothing and beautiful tote bags to swanky sunglasses, there are so many fun finds to be discovered at Philistine.
If you visit their east-end location, be sure to follow up your shopping with a meal at one of many great restaurants nearby. There’s incredible Italian at Gio Rana’s Really Really Nice or if you’re looking for something more casual, try the deep-dish pizza from Descendant. When visiting their west end location, be sure to go for a stroll down the stretch it's on, Queen West, one of the city’s most iconic. Featuring eclectic shops, cute cafes, and beautiful bars, you could spend a whole weekend walking this strip and still not see it all!
