This sweet, sustainable St. Clair West shop was founded by two black women just a few months before the pandemic hit with the hopes of reducing waste in their community. Thankfully, they were able to make it through one of the hardest times for any business, but especially new ones, as sellers of sustainable swaps and refillables available to buy bring-your-own container style, from personal care to home products. One of my best purchases from this shop was a reusable paper towel, a total game changer in my opinion!
Having spoken with one of the owners of this shop on several occasions, I’ve learned how much they are doing to try to make their community a more conscious one. In addition to the planet-friendly products they sell, the store offers containers for specialty recycling, like oral care products which would otherwise be tossed in the trash, and they even help with the hosting of recycling events in the area.
This shop is located on a stretch of St. Clair West that’s also home to a bunch of great cafes, restaurants, and bars. A couple of my favourites are Nodo for incredible Italian and Booyah for an amazing vegan ice cream sandwich!
