I had a deep debate with a friend once about big life choices. If I had to pick between ice cream or yogurt for the rest of my life, which would I choose? (Yogurt) Sushi or pizza? (... tough one...) Cake or pie? Clearly, pie!
When I want my pie fix, I either drive to Costco and buy a family-sized delicacy, like the classy lady I am, or I make my way to Kensington Market to pay a visit to Wanda's Pie in the Sky, arguably the City's preeminent destination for pie.
There is no shortage of selection at Wanda's Pie in the Sky. I love Ontario Sour Cherry, Strawberry Rhubarb, Lemon Meringue, and basically any crumble. There's also Coconut Cream, Wild Blueberry, Apple Berry, Dutch Apple...Black-bottom Chocolate Pecan, which I have yet to try... Long story short, there is a pie for every personality and occasion, and they are all fresh, flaky and loaded with flavour. There are also savoury options (soup, quiche, pizza, sandwiches, salads) and lots of beverages to choose from.
Wanda's Pie in the Sky is cute and colourful, and located in the heart of the bustling, eclectic Kensington Market. Check it out for dessert, lunch or coffee (in that order of importance... or all three) and then go wander the streets of this unique Toronto neighbourhood.
