Caco Nero bar is a great choice to have breakfast, lunch (quick or a complete warm meal), for dinner and, what I love the most, for brunch on a Saturday. It is increasingly difficult to find a place in Venice where you can feel welcome, and here you feel the taste of care and attention as well as the quality: only organic and seasonal food from simple recipes at reasonable prices.
The windows have a nice view on the canal, so if it is a sunny day, sit beside the window and have a good cappuccino enjoying the winter sunlight.
The interior is classic in a new and original way, offering a warm and cozy atmosphere, thanks also to their great taste of music. Moreover, I find it very smart and useful that there is a power socket at each table.
The area, Santa Marta district, is a residential district where you feel the authenticity and privacy, far away from the overcrowded, narrow streets and just 5 minutes away from Piazzale Roma!
You will recognize it immediately by the two pink flamingos outside the door.
Ps: Caco Nero In English is black persimmon. Caco in Italian also indicates the verb to poop, so it’s black poop. Few people know the story of this name: οne evening the owners went out for dinner and ate spaghetti with squid ink and the morning after … imagine! They opted for this name and only afterwards did they discover that it is also a fruit.
