Dings Zurich – The thing about fashion

To the uninitiated, Dings is quite possibly a tad confusing. After all, 'Dings' is what you say in Swiss German when you don't remember the particular expression for an object or person; the closest English term I can think of is 'thingy'. Thus when you suggest to somebody to go clothes shopping at Dings, a blank or bewildered look is the most likely reaction.

This is exactly what I'm telling you here and now though. Go to Dings! The store is located slap bang in the centre of town, right next to Zürich HB main station. They sell really pretty women's clothes, shoes and accessories from more and less well-known brands there. The style is decidedly casual, and it's a little less pricey than many other places in town.

My favourite bit is when someone asks where you got your lovely new bag or jumper from. Just say: 'I got it from Dings!' and wait for the blank look. This one simply never gets old.
