Located right in the middle of Alfama, at the lovely little square of São Miguel. Santo Antonio has an original interior decoration consisting of hundreds of black and white photos of famous people. A nice and intimate setting for a great dinner. In the summer you can sit at on the terrace, below the vine grapes. It’s a great place to enjoy Alfama. Because let´s face it: it is not that easy to find a good restaurant in this charming neighborhood. The food is good. But I normally don’t order a main course. Tip: stick to the starters. We ate at this restaurant last week on Thursday 29th October (2009).
We were just wandering around the Alfama district and walked past it. It was a very mild evening and you can eat outside under vines. It’s got a wonderful atmosphere, there are no cars, everything is very high quality but it isn’t monstrously expensive. My husband had sea bass and I had the mushroom and ham pasta. Both were cooked perfectly. And everything else, the bread, olives, beers, coffees were just delicious. I would recommend this restaurant very highly.

Very good restaurant. We had dinner here, and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I think it was quite a bit cheaper for us than Euro 25,= per person for us!
