Cafe De Kat is one of the oldest and nicest bars in the historical part of Antwerp. It’s located at a corner and surrounded by small streets that give me the feeling of coziness and warmth. The light is mellow and the interior is dark. While I’m drinking my beer outside on the terrace, I hear Jazz music, live from the inside, which creates an authentic and relaxed atmosphere.
Typically dark brown for a pub or bar, the orange lights outside give a nice contrast and make you feel comfortable and at ease. It’s interesting to listen to conversations taking place and engage in some as well. Everyone seems to know each other and that creates a warm and homely atmosphere right in the heart of the city.
Everyone is welcome and although it’s in the center, there is a certain peace that soothes my senses every time I go visit this bar.
