Café Kamiel has it all - good food, great coffee, a big-sized terrace and the perfect location. Café Kamiel is located next to one of my favourite parks in Antwerp, Hof van Leysen. A golden combination! After eating all the delicious treats at Café Kamiel, you can go for a walk in the park to take a breath of fresh air and let the food digest. It is also the perfect place to go with kids, as you can let them play on the playground in the park, opposite the café. I recommend going on Thursdays when you can enjoy their all-you-can-eat spaghetti; both meat and veggie options are available. For the spaghetti on Thursdays, it is best to book your table upfront.
Even though you might not be familiar with this neighbourhood or not usually end up here when visiting Antwerp, to me it’s one of the most beautiful areas in Antwerp and it’s definitely worth it going for a stroll in the surrounding streets, if only to spot all the magnificent houses.
