This place is a bit outside the city centre, but this shouldn't discourage you from visiting, as you can easily get there by bike or public transport. With its huge trees, colorful plants, and small streams, the nature in this park is already worth seeing. However, the true highlight is all the statues you can find there. Made by a variety of Belgian and international artists, some look classic; others are modern and, of course, (according to Belgian tradition) some will give you a surrealistic vibe. In other words, no matter your taste, you will find something that you'll like!
If you go to one of the cafes in the park, you can easily spend a couple of hours there. Personally, I love to go to Park Middelheim at the weekend, stroll around, admire the statues, enjoy nature, and end the visit with a coffee or a beer and a mandatory piece of cake!
