It all started out with a food truck serving the tastiest Indian street food all around Flanders. Now Mission Masala, conveniently located in the hip Nieuw-Zuid in Antwerp, has turned into a favorite of many foodies ( including yours truly) looking for an evening out filled with Indian flavors in a colorful urban setting.
One of the reasons I love going there is the interior, the house style and branding. It's spot on. It makes you feel like you are on vacation or that you are part of a scene in an Indian movie scene. Neon lights, a big green wall with their mascot tigers, stickers with logos, symbols in the toilet... there is a lot to look at.
Close to the bar there is a pink light saying 'Desi' which basically can't be translated into another language but it kind of means 'so flavorsome there are no words for it'. Get it? And that's also how the food turns out to be. The menu is put together like a sharing concept. There are 6 street snacks to choose from and the main culinary attraction is the thali which is a food platter for two with a selection of signature curries and seasonal suggestions. There is also a vegetarian thali that is equally tasty and filling. For a full 'Mission experience' for 2 persons, I would recommend ordering 1 to 2 snacks and a thali to share. Oh and start your meal with my personal favorite: the Tamarind Margarita!

A classic is the pizza Calabrese with spicy salami, paprika, tomato, and mozzarella. Ask for some grilled onions on top to make it even tastier (you can thank me later).
