If I feel like a 50/50 balanced lunch on a Saturday afternoon, then I usually opt for Nordica 31. They aim to serve delicious Nordic street food like their sour bread, specialty coffee and tea and probably the best sweet buns in town.
This hip foodie spot is located in a residential vibrant area of Antwerp where new young families come to live just around the corner of exotic supermarkets and bakeries. Nordica 31 opened late Spring 2020 between two lockdowns and have been successful with the in crowd ever since. They had me water-mouthing even before they opened I kid you not.
On the menu you'll find an interesting variety of smorrebrods like the 'egg' with a hard-boiled egg, homemade basil mayonnaise, fennel and roasted almonds . You will need to order two to make a lunch meal or do as I do and take one and end your lunch with a cardamom bun (which I prefer over the cinnamon one). I always feel so 'hygge' when I leave this place! Because of the food yes, but also thanks to the lovely service here.
Next on my Nordica31 food wish list: try out the sourdough pizzette they serve on Thursdays and the crazy amazing lobster bun!
