Right at the Coninckplein, the first thing you will probably notice is Permeke, one of the libraries of Antwerp. I love going to libraries. I can spend hours looking and searching and reading and searching again. If you find yourself to be one of those people, you can make your day even better afterwards - by going with your freshly rented books to Viggo's Coffee Bar on the other side of the square.
It's a Scandinavian inspired coffee bar where you can get a slow brew coffee and a pleasant chat. It's very peaceful and relaxed with friendly staff. Viggo's is also an official distributors for German soft drinks such as Fritz-Kola (Hamburg), Proviant (Berlin) and Club-Mate. Since I lived for many years close to Hamburg, being able to get me some of the drinks I never thought I would miss, is a good feeling. Maybe it's the thought of just being able to. If you find yourself as well in need of some Club-Mate, Horeca can order their goods by phone or email.
I would also recommend the Matcha Latte, which is a nice alternative to coffee and the latte art on green background looks extremely interesting :-) The pancakes are tasty as well, which are only being served during weekends.
