Β & Ε Goulandris’ Foundation is the art museum that every big city must have and really was missing from the Athens’ art scene. Opened a few weeks ago in Pagkrati neighborhood, it is a visit if you are into paintings from the last centuries.

The Foundation has 4 floors and each one has a different concept. The first two floors are dedicated to artists from abroad and the last two floors to Greek painters.

When you enter the hall of the first floor you will get very strong feelings, as in a few sq.m  you see from very close up paintings by Van Gogh, Picasso, Miro, Kandinsky, Gaugin (my favorite one!) and many more paintings by really famous artists.

And if you do not have any idea about Greek painters, this is your chance! Here you can wander among paintings by Tsarouchis, Mytaras, Tsoklis and many more. I felt really emotional when for the first time I saw the sailorman by Tsarouchis from his collection “44 men”.

After the end of your visit, you can enjoy a delicious lunch in its open-air restaurant and of course you can enjoy your shopping in its special art shop. And do not forget to check its educational programs – maybe you will find something that suits your aesthetics.

P.S. You can combine your visit there with your walk to the National Garden or Kallimarmaro Stadium, as it is within walking distance from both places.
