Kerameio Athens

Without any doubt this is one of my favourite places in my neighboorhood in my Athens. Actually I can say I have been to Kerameio twice per week since I've lived here.

In the morning you can sit at any of the small tables they have outside and really feel the good vibes of the area. I usually go there for a coffee and a piece of chocolate cake on Tuesday morning, just before visiting the street market those days on Kerameikou, nearby.

If you go in the evening you can change that coffee for beers, wine or a cocktail and some mezedes (small dishes to share with your friends).

The place is well known between the neighbours for the live music program they have. Some of the best musicians in the city are playing there from time to time (most of them jazz musicians).

If you sit in the main room (the tables are not only big, they're also very unique) those evenings can be a bit difficult for you to breathe because most of the people are smoking there, but there is a great solution for that: you can sit in the covered backyard where the atmosphere is totally different.

So here you have it: a cozy place with friendly service and warm atmosphere where you can enjoy live music. I hardly can think of a better plan for tonight :-)
